Acrylic bear

This acrylic painting was created during the Covid-19 pandemic in Germany. I watched, fascinated, as nature recovered while industrialized humanity was forced to retreat. The central figure is a polar bear, whose form is deliberately left undefined. He faces a crisis. His habitat is disappearing. Like him, we too are facing an unprecedented crisis that is intensifying. I tried to depict an animal that radiates wild and unbridled energy, while simultaneously being vigilant and present. It is fighting for its place in this world. With this cataclysmic backdrop, I hope to encourage reflection on the interplay between nature and world events.
